Crossbones® Lawn Games
All Crossbones® lawn games are truly unique. No matter how many challenges you play, no two battles will ever be the same.
Battles on grass are not simply about judging the distance of your throw. Unlike beach games, bounce plays a big part in lawn Crossbones®, so controlling how your bones fly through the air, as well as how they land, can have a huge impact on the outcome of the game. And just remember - a bit of luck can always come to the rescue, mix things up, and mess with your opponent's strategy.
Types of throws for Lawn Games
Bones can be thrown a number of ways, depending on the position of the bone you're aiming at.
If your opponent's bone is pointing straight towards you, you'll probably want to launch your bone while holding it in the centre, to maximise the chances of landing a 'Crossbone'.
If your target bone is resting parallel to the throw line, hold and throw your bone from one of its ends, to give yourself the best chance of scoring the point.
As you get the hang of Crossbones®, and a feel for how your bones are behaving (or misbehaving!), experiment with a bit of backspin to try and reduce bounce and roll. Get On Top!
